Thousands of OVs register to attend Homeland Spring programme

Thousandsof overseas Vietnamese have registered to participate in the annual “Xuan QueHuong” (Homeland Spring) 2018, said Deputy Foreign Minister and Head of theState Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs Vu Hong Nam.

The event, themed “Vietnamwith bright future”, is scheduled to take place in Hanoi on February 7 (the 22ndday of the 12th lunar month).

Many Vietnamese artists inforeign countries will perform at the event alongside domestic artists, Namadded.

“In each of our overseasbusiness trips, we have sensed the Overseas Vietnamese’s confidence in thedevelopment of the homeland as well as their pride of the homeland’s growingrole and position in the world arena”, he said.

“This year’s theme meets theOverseas Vietnamese’s aspirations for Vietnam to build a bright future andthese expats showed they stand ready to join hands in building a bright futurefor the homeland”, he noted.

There are approximately 4.5million Vietnamese living and working in 103 countries and territoriesworldwide. They form an indispensable part of the nation and play an importantrole in intensifying friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the rest ofthe world.

The annual “Xuan Que Huong”(Homeland Spring) is aimed at providing a platform for Vietnamese expats toshare their aspirations and thoughts and honouring those who have contributedto the homeland’s development.
