Deputy PM lauds Vietnamese expats’ contributions to homeland

Vietnamesenationals in foreign countries across the world, including those in Romania,have made significant contributions to the socio-economic development in thehomeland, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham BinhMinh.

In a meeting with theVietnamese Embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community inRomania on July 6 as part of his official visit to the Southeast Europeancountry, Minh noticed that Vietnam has enjoyed robust economic growth in thepast time while the country’s role and position in the international arena havebeen elevated.

The Vietnamese Party andState always pay due attention to overseas Vietnamese people, he said,expressing his hope that the Vietnamese nationals in Romania will further effortsto contribute to the development of the host nation while serving as a bridgeto develop the friendship between the two countries.

Vice Chairman of theAssociation of Vietnamese People in Romania Pham Duy Hung said that over 1,000Vietnamese nationals have stabilised their livelihoods here, enhancedsolidarity, and joined in many activities held by the Vietnamese Embassy.

On the occasion, Deputy PMMinh also applauded the embassy for fulfilling entrusted missions, thusenhancing bilateral ties with the host nation in various fields, includingpolitics, economy, diplomacy and culture. 

Particularly, the embassyhas organised various cultural activities as well as Vietnamese languageclasses for Vietnamese expats while promptly carrying out citizen protectionmeasures, he added.
