SinceOctober 22nd, 54 contestants from nine provincial excellent student team,who are going to compete in the 12th grade national competition, started thetraining course to foster their knowledge and skills to achieve the highestresults in the coming exam. With some adjustments in selecting the excellent team,"rewarding" for the school students with high result, and improvingthe training time, Phu Yen education sector expects to create a breakthrough inthe number and quality of the national awards this year.

 
The Maths teams on a training day

As a grade 9 student, NguyenCat Suong, a student in class 11B5, Le Loi high school (Dong Xuan district) hasenjoyed history and won the third prize in the provincial gifted student selectioncompetition. With efforts to study, at 10th grade, she continued to win thesecond prize in the provincial selection exam of gifted students in the 2017-2018school year. Suong has always cherished the dream to be selected into the provincial12th grade history excellent group to participate in the competition at thenational level. To gain her wish, during the last summer vacation, she spent alot of time and heart to read documents, books and magazines to raise knowledgein this subject. Thanks to the efforts and determination, Suong has achievedhigh results in the contest to set up a team of grade-12 excellent students atthe provincial level to compete at the national level, becoming one of the sixoutstanding faces of the History team.

Among the 54 students in nineprovincial teams competing in the next national 12th gradecompetition, there are 24 grade-11 students, whiich shows that they have a goodbreakthrough. Le Khanh Huy, an 11th grader at Mathematics 1 class,Luong Van Chanh Gifted High School, is one of the students  expected to achieve the high prize in Mathsby teachers.

Living in Song Hinh mountainousdistrict, Khanh Huy tried to pass the entrance exam into Luong Van Chanh GiftedHigh School. In the first year of schooling here, he has made remarkableprogress to win the silver medal of mathematics in the traditional 30/4 Olympiadcontest for the Southern provinces, and gain the first prize in the competitionfor the 11th grade outstanding students.

Recently, in the provincialcompetition for selecting excellent students to attend the national competition,he won the first prize with 18/20 points. Huy confided: "I always dream ofwinning a prize to bring honor to my school. Being selected for this year'snational competition is a chance for me to do that. Therefore, I will focus ontraining with the highest determination”.

According to Mr. Huynh TanChau, Head of Luong Van Chanh Specialized High School, this year, the schoolcontinues to be assigned by the Department of Education and Training to takeinitiative in arranging and building the training plans. 63 well-qualifiedteachers and lecturers were convened to participate in fostering knowledge forthe students.

 "Taking advantagesof gray matter" of the leading professors and doctors in training andfostering students at the national level in the early years "to harvest sweetfruits". Therefore, in this school year, besides fostering in place, theteachers in charge of the team will continue to promote the activities associatingwith the other provinces to exchange, learn, and share experiences infostering. A number of natural subject teams will go to Hanoi to directlyacquire knowledge from experts," said Mr. Chau.

In the talk with students onthe opening day of fostering the specialized teams for the nationalcompetition, Mr. Pham Van Cuong, Director of Phu Yen Department of Educationand Training, let known: In order to encourage the students to win high prizes,the provincial leaders and the education sector promise to award presents, ifthey win the international prizes, they will be rewarded with VND 30 million toVND 50 million, in addition to being honored and rewarded by the sponsors.

 “Despite the lastcontinual 4 academic years, the province has selected students to compete inthe international level, but not gaining prizes. This year, with greatpreparation, training efforts and the determination of both the teachers andstudents in the teams, hope that the students will break, make a wonderfulperformance, bring honor to themselves, families and the province," Mr. Cuongexpressed.
