Helping the disadvantaged objects to strive

Inthe past years, Phu Yen association for patronizing the handicapped andorphaned children (abbreivated as the association) has made nonstop efforts tocoordinate with sectors and localities to mobilize over 21 billion dongs tohelp thousands of handicapped people and the orphaned children in the province.From that, the disadvantaged children have been added with strength to overcomedifficulties, and make efforts in life. to confidently overcome all difficultiesand strive in life. With then, the association is practically the solidreliance.

Via the recommendation of Phu Yen association for patronizing the handicapped and
orphaned children, the NGOs provide medical screening check-up on children lacking
mobility system in Son Hoa district

Mr. Vu Thanh Binh, vicechairman of Phu Yen association, lets known: the Association is now managingover 19,000 handicapped people and over 6,000 orphaned children. In the comingtime, the association is making strenuous efforts to closely coordinate withthe governments at all levels, social organizations, philanthropists who sparethe attention, care, help for the spiritual life of the handicapped andorphaned children.

Thanks to well implementingthe tasks of propagation, from the beginning of the year to now, theassociation has mobilized to support the individuals, organizations bothdomestically and internationally with more than 21 billion dongs to help thoseobjects; providing frequent subsidies

to the particularly serioushandicapped objects, donating free wheel chairs and shaking wheels to thehandicapped-orphaned children…, and this adds more strength to those objects tofeel confident in trying in life and integrating into the community.

The orphaned brothers namedNguyen Minh Thong, 17 years old and Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thai, 12 years old, inQuang Duc hamlet,  An Thach commune (TuyAn district) feel life less miserable and pitiful when in the year 2017, lotsof philanthropists have come to help the them via the recommendation of Phu Yenassociation, localities and sectors, collectives.

In 2014, Thai’s motherpassed away because of a traffic accident and then in 2016, his father died ofcancer. The two siblings were pitiful and relied on the care of localgovernments and the kind-hearted minds of the neighbors, to live on. Ngoc Thaiconfided, “in recent years, the philanthropists and charity groups have comehere to help us a lot, I do show my gratitude to the aunts, the uncles. We werestill too young when my parents passed away, so we could not fully understandthe loss as well as the awaiting difficulties in life. Thanks to the care,attention of the organizations, collectives, my brother and I can have savingsfor the long future ahead”.

Through the programs andvisits, gift-giving sessions, the Association has timely informed to allmembers the advocacies of the Party, state law for the handicapped, orphanedchildren to help them better understand law, better implement theresponsibilities of one citizen;mutually encourage to overcome the self disadvantaged of “beinghandicapped but still competent”; the orphaned children to make efforts inlife, receiving more scholarships of poor students studying well…

In the coming time, Phu Yen forpatronizing the handicapped and orphaned children continues to enhance andraise the awareness of community, society of the activities to support andensure the rights of the handicapped and orphaned children; actively mobilizethe construction of fund sources for the activities to contribute to care, helpthose objects; organize more activities to encourage the handicapped to takepart in the community integration”, Mr. Vu Thanh Binh said.
