Vietnam win seven medals at Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad 2018

Vietnamesestudents brought home one gold, four silver and two bronze medals in theAsia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad 2018.

With the result, Vietnamranks third out of 31 countries and territories behind China and Russia.

The gold medal was carriedoff by Pham Duc Thang from the High School for Gifted Students under NationalUniversity - Hanoi.

Hoang Xuan Nhat from theHigh School for Gifted Students under National University - HCM City, NguyenKhanh from the High School for Gifted Students under National University -Hanoi, Trinh Huu Gia Phuc from the Lam Son High School for Gifted Students inthe central province of Thanh Hoa and Nguyen Minh Tung from the High School forGifted Students under National University - Hanoi won silver medals.

Nguyen Hoang Hai Minh fromthe High School for Gifted Students under National University - Hanoi and DuongQuoc Hung from the Thang Long High School for Gifted Students in the CentralHighlands province of Lam Dong won bronze medals.

The Asia-Pacific InformaticsOlympiad 2018 was held online on May 13 with 586 contestants from 31 countriesand territories, including 15 Vietnamese students who joined the contest onlineat National University - Hanoi. A total of 87 contestants won medals.

In the previous Olympiad,Vietnam won five silver medals and one bronze medal, finishing seventh in themedal tally.
