Delegations set sail for Truong Sa archipelago for Tet festival

Delegations of militaryofficers and soldiers set sail for Truong Sa (Spratly) on January 4 to visitthose performing duties on Vietnam’s archipelago on the occasion of the comingLunar New Year (Tet) festival.

Addressing the see-off ceremony held at Cam Ranh militaryport in central Khanh Hoa province, Vice Chairman of the Khanh Hoa People’sCommittee Nguyen Dac Tai said the trip aims to convey the profound attentionthat the Party, State, Defence Ministry, and people nationwide pay to thesafeguarding of the sacred sovereignty in the sea, as well as to soldiers andresidents in Truong Sa, which is also a district of Khanh Hoa.

Such sentiment is a great support and encouragement forsoldiers and residents in Truong Sa to weather every difficulty to fulfil theheavy but glorious task assigned by the Party and people, he noted.

Rear Admiral Nguyen Duc Vuong, Political Commissar of NavalRegion 4, expressed his belief that the officers and soldiers assuming newtasks in Truong Sa archipelago will overcome all difficulties to fulfil theirtasks.

Four ships of Naval Region 4 are carrying thousands of Tetgift packages sent by military units and people nationwide to soldiers andresidents on 33 islands of the archipelago.
