NA Standing Committee wraps up 30th session

The National AssemblyStanding Committee concluded its 30th session on January 10, havingcompleted all items on the working agenda.

In her closing remarks, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Nganasked the Government, NA committees and relevant agencies to study opinionspresented during the session regarding the draft revised law on the executionof criminal judgements, while finalizing three draft resolutions forissuance. 

She noted that the 31st session is slated forFebruary 20 and 21, which is only more than one week after the Tet (Lunar NewYear) holiday. As the time for preparation for the session is short, theGovernment and relevant ministries and agencies should actively coordinate withthe NA Standing Committee to complete necessary preparation, Ngan said. 

Earlier, the NA Standing Committee approved the adjustmentand establishment of a number of administrative units in the southern provinceof Dong Thap, and the northern province of Hai Duong.

The 30th session of the NA Standing Committee tookplace during only one day, during which members of the committee gave theirideas on a number of issues of the draft revised Law on Execution of CriminalJudgments, considered and decided the sending of a representative to thenational council for judge selection and supervision.
