Party and State leader receives French Prime Minister

Vietnamhas always considered France a leading partner in Europe and the world, PartyGeneral Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong told French Prime MinisterEdouard Philippe.

During his reception in Hanoion November 2 for the French PM, Trong expressed his pleasure at thepositive development of bilateral relations between Vietnam and France inrecent years, while applauding the two sides’ efforts to promote and maintaintheir strategic partnership through various mechanisms and cooperationforms. 

The host hoped the two sideswill actively coordinate to realise the recently signed agreements, make joint effortsto maintain the positive momentum of the bilateral relations, and closelycoordinate at multilateral forums, thus contributing to maintaining peace,stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

He said that political trust andcomprehensive cooperation across various fields between the two countries arenot only based on objective needs, but also in accordance with the basicinterests of the two countries.

The Vietnamese Party and Stateleader suggested the two sides facilitate the development of their community ineach country, adding that this will be an important bridge towards bringingbilateral relations closer.  

For his part, Edouard Philippeexpressed his pleasure at meeting with the Vietnamese leader, while congratulatingTrong on his election as State President.

PM Philippe conveyed that hewas glad to be able to visit Vietnam – an important partner to his country inAsia – especially as the year marks the 45th anniversary ofdiplomatic ties between the two countries, and the five years since they signedthe strategic partnership.

The French PM expressed hisimpression with Vietnam’s vigorous and vital development, highlighting thefruitful expansion of their bilateral relations in recent years. 

He said he hopes the two sideswill further promote their cooperation in an effective manner across all fieldsin the time ahead, especially in the context of complicated global issues.
