NA Standing Committee to convene 23rd session on April 10

TheNational Assembly Standing Committee is scheduled to sit for the 23rdsession in Hanoi on April 10.

The legislators will devotemost of their time during the nine-day session to law making. They are set tomull over an array of laws, including the Law on Coast Guards, the law amendingand supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Amnesty, the UrbanDevelopment and Management Law, the Husbandry Law, the Cultivation Law and thePopulation Law, among others. 

They will also look intoadjustments to the draft revised Law on Anti-corruption and continue to giveopinions to contentious contents of the draft Law on SpecialAdministrative-Economic Units. 

Besides, the lawmakers willdiscuss preparations for the fifth meeting of the NA, the supervisionprogrammes of the NA and its Standing Committee and the law and ordinancebuilding programme in 2019. 

They will also work on theGovernment’s report on the thrift practice and wastefulness in 2017, andconsider the establishment of Phu My town and its wards in the southern coastalprovince of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, and Phuoc Cat town in Cat Tien district, the CentralHighlands province of Lam Dong.
