Focus on ensuring traffic safety on Tet holidays

Afternumerous floods in 2017, the national highways of 25, 29, 19C and theprovincial roads damaged in many items, the situation of landslide, scatteredin many places of background, road surface subsided has caused trafficinsecurity. Facing this situation, Phu Yen Department of Transportation hasmade the chasms repaired. Besides, the unit also implements closely managingpassenger transport in order to create favorable conditions in travelling forpeople to enjoy Tet.

After many months ofconsecutive storms and rains, the national roads of 29, 25, 19C and manyprovincial roads severely damaged. The plagued asphalt of road surface; thedensity of "potholes", "big potholes" on the road hascaused impediment for people’s travelling. Facing with that situation, the PhuYen Department of Transportation has deployed the plan to repair and upgradeall the above roads to ensure travel for people, especially in the upcomingLunar New Year. With the current good weather, dozens of equipment, workershave focused on deploying more construction on DT650 across An Xuan commune,Tuy An district. According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tri, Director of Phu YenDepartment of Transportation, DT650 has been upgraded and extended in the roadsurface of from 3.5m to 5.5m with concrete on a total length of about 4km. Thisis one of the significant works to urgently deploy to facilitate travel forpeople welcoming the spring, especially the Thi Thung Mount horse-race festivalhas been held in An Xuan commune on each Lunar New Year. The cost of upgradingthis route is about VND 17 billion. At present, the contractor has constructednearly 3.7km of cement concrete pavement.

Sinceconstruction, most of the repaired works on the roads have been interrupted dueto several continual days of raining. The asphalt concrete units have to waitfor sunny weather to continue the work. Over the past days, despite theunfavorable weather, the construction units still concentrated on humanresources, vehicles to accelerate constructing and repairing national highwaysand provincial roads. In addition to repairing and upgrading pavements,road-lines are also repainted, damaged signboards replaced, sewers cleared... Thetotal cost is about VND 57 billion. The repair task is estimated to becompleted by December 25th lunar calendar.

According to the Phu YenDepartment of Transportation, before and after the Lunar New Year, the numberof passengers on inter-provincial routes increased sharply, especially theroute of Tuy Hoa - Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa. In order to meet the needsof people, the unit has instructed the enterprises to increase the means on theroutes. Besides businesses in the province, Phu Yen Department ofTransportation also asked the transport enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City toparticipate in passenger transport on the routes of Ho Chi Minh City - Tuy Hoaand vice versa. In order to tighten managing the passenger transport, theDepartment of Transportation has carried out many inspections of the carbusinesses of passenger transport on the fixed routes. Accordingly, the unitsanctioned a car business VND 5 million for not listing tickets at the ticketcounter. The inspection team will continue to conduct unexpected check againstthe car businesses to timely prevent the state of arbitrarily increasing ticketprices, not publicly listing ticket-fare...
