MR. TRAN MINH CHAU, DIRECTOR OF PHU YEN CENTER FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OFHI-TECH AGRICULTURE: Pioneering pilot production models applied 4.0 technology

Currently, Vietnam in general and Phu Yenprovince in particular are moving straight from agriculture 1.0 to 4.0.Therefore, the smart infrastructure in agricultural production is still limitedand there are not any schemes of developing smart agriculture, which means lackof both infrastructure and policy.

Meanwhile, in the currentcontext of global competition, the application and development of hi-techagriculture are indispensable and necessary trend, contributing to completingthe project of restructuring the agricultural sector of the province. Facingcurrent difficulties, the province is gradually changing the production methodaccording to local conditions.

Initially, the Center forResearch and Development of Hi-Tech Agriculture pioneers to apply each part of4.0 technology into agricultural production through pilot models. The centerhas applied the management technology of irrigation water, fertilizer andautomatic temperature in net houses, membrane houses... into pilot productionof some plants and gained positive results.

In the coming time, thecenter will continue to coordinate with enterprises and units in otherlocalities to promote the application of 4.0 technology into agriculturalproduction with the aim of organizing the closed cycle of producing, circulating and distributing agricultural products to the market. This willcontribute to changing farmers' perceptions of transparency in the productionprocess, enabling them to access traceability technologies and managementtechnology of organic farming system...; creating products with guaranteedquality, reducing costs and risk, increasing value and bringing high economicefficiency.
