High-quality products – key to reaching out global market

Producinghigh-quality products will enable Vietnamese businesses to make inroad into theglobal market, experts said at a workshop in Hanoi on May 10.

The event was jointly heldby the Business Association of High-Quality Vietnamese Products and theBusiness Studies & Assistance Centre.

Experts highlightedfundamental factors that Vietnamese firms should know to enter foreign marketsand obtain sustainable development such as ensuring quality of products,developing brand names, and increasing value of materials.

The adoption of innovationsolutions in marketing and building geographical indications play a crucialrole alike, they said.

Executive Director of GS25Retail Group of the Republic of Korea Ju Young Yun said Vietnam needs to ensurefood safety and hygiene so that its products could be widely distributed in theforeign markets and meet the taste of customers.

Additionally, businessesshould build their own brand names by investing in design, label and origin ofproducts, he said, adding this is the key to increasing the presence ofmade-in-Vietnam products in the global market.

Le Viet Nga, Deputy Directorof the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Domestic Market Department, said theministry has coordinated with communication agencies to introduce businessesproducing and trading safe food.

The ministry has alsocarried out a number of activities to increase the presence of Vietnamese goodsin supermarkets of foreign firms as well as launched national trade promotionprogrammes, she added.

At the workshop, businesseswere updated on a set of criteria about high-quality products, including foodsafety and hygiene.
