PPC leaders checking the construction progress of Dinh Ong bridge

Comrades:Pham Dai Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, PPCChairman; Nguyen Chi Hien, Standing PPC Vice Chairman have just checked theconstruction progress of Dinh Ong bridge.

According to the ProvincialManagement Board of the construction investment projects, up to now, the DinhOng bridge project has basically ensured the schedule. Dong A InternationalGroup Joint Stock Company (the construction unit) has carried out linking 3 spansout of 5 ones, the remaining two spans has completed the construction ofreinforcement and will be linked before November 15th. Thecontractor has been also actively constructing road foundation with 3construction groups.

In order to have capital paidfor the acceptance volume meeting the conditions for payment and to ensure theprogress of work completion, the Provincial Construction Investment ProjectManagement Board has proposed the PPC to consider supplementing the capitalwith the amount VND 35 billion.

Through inspecting, PPC Chairman,Mr. Pham Dai Duong asked departments and agencies related to research, createconditions for timely allocating funds for the work. In addition, theconstruction units need to further strengthen personnel resource and material tospeed up the pace in order to be able to open for engineering traffic of the workof Dinh Ong bridge this year. Investors need to urge the construction units toactively monitor the weather forecast in the locality to have a timely solutionin case of huge rain and storm.

* The delegation also checkedthe operation of some sand mines in the districts of Dong Hoa and Phu Hoa anddiscussed the state management of sand mining activities in the province.Through inspection, most of the mining units have not invested in a number ofitems as specified in the sand mines such as the surveillance camera system totransmit information to management agencies, installing weighing stations in theplace of transferring sand out of the mine...

According to the Department ofNatural Resources and Environment, in the province, some units, which were licensedto exploit, have not fully implemented under the license, organized exploiting notthe right location, late in paying for licensing the mining rights anddepositing for environmental rehabilitation and restoration...

Concluding at the meeting,  Standing PPC Vice Chairman, Mr. Nguyen ChiHien emphasized: Departments, branches and localities need to manage moreclosely and effectively in controlling mineral mining activities, especiallythe sand mining situation to avoid loss of natural resources.

Departments and sectors usethe existing planning to balance the amount of sand and plan to auction theright of mining sand. Localities need to mobilize people not to raise and growcrops in the mudflats in the riverbed to ensure the flow and safety in therainy season. In addition, local authorities also need to strictly manage areasnot yet licensed for sand mining.
