Vietnam tourism aims to lure North American tourists

TheVietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) is inviting hospitalityenterprises involved in travel, hotel, transportation, catering andentertainment to join a programme to promote Vietnamese tourism in NorthAmerica starting this September.

Hosted by the VietnamNational Administration of Tourism (VNAT), the programme will take place inToronto, Canada on September 17; in Washington DC on September 19; and in NewYork on September 21.

According to Dinh Ngoc Ducof the VNAT marketing department, the programme, part of a master plan topromote Vietnamese tourism in 2018, will help boost the number of tourists fromthis high-potential market.

He said that the events willalso be an opportunity for Vietnamese tourist enterprises and those from Canadaand the US to meet directly, thus enhancing their cooperation in the field.

Along with face-to-facemeetings between hospitality companies and agencies, the agenda will alsoinclude a programme presenting famous tourist destinations in Vietnam and newtourist products and services. New State policies in tourism development willalso be introduced to audiences.

All events will concludewith a feast of Vietnamese cuisine.

Last year, among 12.9million international tourists visiting Vietnam were more than 138,000 visitorsfrom Canada and 614,000 from the US. The figure from the US includes asignificant number of overseas Vietnamese.
