Vietnam festival attractive to visitors in Japanese prefecture

VietnamFestival in Japan’s Aichi prefecture has become one of the most attractivefestivals in the locality as it attracted nearly 200,000 visitors over the pasttwo days.

The “Vietnam Festival inAichi 2018 - Ho Chi Minh City’s Integration and Development” took place atHisaya Odori Park, Nagoya city, from April 7-8.

An array of festivities washeld during the festival, including a photo exhibition showcasing Ho Chi MinhCity’s images, traditional art performances and cuisine introduction. 

Attending the event,Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong notedthat the festival was a vivid illustration for the fruitful relations betweenthe two sides.

He expressed his hope thatthe festival would bring exhilarating experiences of economy, culture, art andtourism in Vietnam in general and those in Ho Chi Minh in particular to Aichiresidents, helping tighten cooperative ties between the two localities.

Meanwhile, Governor of Aichiprefecture Hideaki Omura stressed that the Vietnamese southern largest economichub and Aichi prefecture inked an agreement to set up friendship andcooperative relations in 2016. 

Among 200 Aichi firmsoperating in Vietnam, 70 of them landed investment in Ho Chi Minh City andthere are 23,000 Vietnamese people living and working in the Japaneseprefecture.

Head of the festivalorganising board Noriko Hirose wished that the festival would help bringVietnamese images closer to local residents.
