Warnings issued for Vietnamese tourists to Egypt, Taiwan

The VietnamNational of Administration Tourism (VNAT) has issued documents to warn domestictravel companies of security instability in Egypt.

The VNAT previously received an official dispatch from theConsular Department under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on consecutive terrorbombings at famous tourist attractions in Egypt, including the Giza pyramidcomplex, centre of Cairo capital city, and Arish in North Sinai, causingsecurity instability in the country.

To ensure safety for Vietnamese tourists travelling abroad,the VNAT instructed travel companies to consider the organisation of tours toEgypt in the current time to avoid unfortunate incidents. 

In addition, companies were recommended to provide names,contact information and sight-seeing schedule of Vietnamese tourists to theEmbassy of Vietnam in Egypt to receive support in necessary cases.

Earlier, the VNAT warned Vietnamese tourists against bringingpork products when travelling to Taiwan. 

As the African swine fever hitting Vietnam’s northern region,tourists carrying pork products will be detained and subjected to a fine of upto 200,000 TWD (6,470 USD). If failing to pay the fine, their access to thecountry will be denied.
