Quang Nam province’s girl crowned Miss Vietnam 2018

TranTieu Vy, a 18-year-old girl from central Quang Nam province, overcame 42other finalists to take the crown of Miss Vietnam 2018 in the grand finaleof the pageant in Ho Chi Minh City on September 16 night.

Bui Phuong Nga, who was bornin the central province of Ha Tinh, and Nguyen Thi Thuy An from theMekong Delta province of Kien Giang were the first and secondrunners-up, respectively.

Vy walked away with 500million VND (24,000 USD) in cash and gifts worth several hundreds of millionsof VND, while Nga and An took home 200 million VND (9,500 USD) each.

Vy is well-suited tosucceed in competition at international pageants. The girl was listed in thetop three of the Miss Sea session at the contest.

Following this event, Vywill represent the country in the upcoming global competition Miss World 2018,which is scheduled to take place in December in China.

Le Thanh Tu from Hanoicapital city won Miss Ao dai (Vietnamese traditional longdress). Nguyen Thi Hong Tuyet of An Giang won Miss CharmingFace. Tuyet was also named in the top three of the Miss Fashionsession.

Ha Luong Bao Hang fromDak Lak won Miss Tourism. Huynh Pham Thuy Tien of Ho ChiMinh City won Miss Sports and Nguyen Hoang Bao Chau won Miss Beach.

Miss Vietnam beganin 1988 and has been organised every two years. The contest has encouraged manyyoung women to demonstrate their talent in careers, charity and socialactivities.
